Setting Up Trip Notifications

Trip Mate allows you to receive instant notifications whenever a new trip matching your preferences is found. This guide will walk you through how to set up notifications tailored to your travel needs.

How Notifications Work

You can create notifications based on your preferred travel criteria. Once a new trip matching your settings is found, you will be notified immediately through your chosen notification channel.

Example Use Case

Let's say you live in Hamburg, Germany, and you are interested in traveling to the southern regions of Europe, such as France, Italy, or Spain. You don’t mind whether the trip starts in Hamburg and ends in one of these countries or the other way around, as long as it gets you to your destination.

To set this up, you would:

  1. First Notification:

    • Start City: Hamburg
    • Destination Countries: Spain, Italy, France

  2. Second Notification:

    • Start Countries: Spain, Italy, France
    • Destination City: Hamburg

Additional Customization

  • Vehicle Type: If you only want to travel with a camper, you can select “Camper Van.”
  • Minimum Passengers: If you need at least 2 seats, set the minimum passengers to 2.
  • Travel Dates: You can specify a date range (e.g., April and May) to filter trips that match your available travel period.
  • Optional Fields: All fields are optional except for at least one start country and one destination country.

Activating Notification Channels

To receive notifications, you must enable at least one of the available channels:

If no channel is activated, you won’t receive any notifications.

Checking for Multiple City Locations

Some cities have multiple departure locations. Make sure to check all possible options. For example, Berlin has:

  • Berlin (Main city)
  • (Berlin) Schönefeld (Near Berlin Airport)
  • (Berlin) Waltersdorf (Another nearby location)

For the best results, select multiple locations if available.

Finalizing Your Setup

Once you have configured your notification settings, click Save. From now on, you will receive instant alerts whenever a matching trip is found!
